Cumming City Center has two holiday days on its 2026 calendar. The Cumming Fairgrounds has 38 holiday nights in a row. That difference shapes how the season works in Cumming this year. The Fairgrounds is now the place you can go on any night, and City Center holds the specific dates you plan around.
The change comes from Nights of Lights, a walk-through light attraction at 235 Castleberry Road that runs from Friday, Nov. 20, through Sunday, Dec. 27. Its organizers describe it as an event they "can't wait to bring" to Cumming in 2026, so this is its first season here. The next day, Saturday, Nov. 21, City Center holds its market and tree lighting. Both hubs open on the same weekend and then run on very different schedules for the rest of the year.
What 38 straight nights at the Fairgrounds looks like
Nights of Lights is open 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, every night from Nov. 20 to Dec. 27. It is also open on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Most holiday events in Cumming happen on a single night, and this one covers the whole season, including the three days when most other places close.
The walk-through is about a quarter mile long on paved paths, and the FAQ says it is wheelchair accessible. The attractions list includes more than 200 LED displays, a 65-foot tree, an igloo, a skating rink, carnival rides, a petting zoo with animal rides, a bounce area and a movie and play zone.
Admission covers the lights, the igloo and Santa's Village. A few extras cost more, and those add up fastest for families with young kids.
| Item | 2026 price |
|---|---|
| Ages 16 and up | $10 |
| Ages 5 to 15 | $7 |
| Ages 4 and under | Free |
| Skating rink | $5 |
| Petting zoo feed cups | $3 to $6 |
| Animal rides | $10 |
You can buy tickets at the gate or online through the ticket and promo page, and the site says buying online lets you skip the line at the gate. Santa is there for photos Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6 to 9 p.m. until Dec. 20, so the last week of the season has the lights without Santa.
City Center keeps the dates you plan around
City Center's holiday season is short, and the dates are set. The posted November and December 2026 calendars list two holiday days there, Nov. 21 and Dec. 5. Before those, two other events on the amphitheater calendar set the mood for November.
- Saturday, Nov. 7: Cumming Bourbon & Blues Festival. This is the festival's second year at Lou Sobh Amphitheater, running 4 to 7 p.m. Discover FoCo's listing says you must be 21 or older to buy a ticket and taste the bourbon, and you don't need a ticket if you aren't tasting. General admission is $65 through Nov. 6 and $75 on the day, and VIP is $150 in advance and $175 on the day, plus service fees. The event listings don't include a lineup. A separate show, The Page Brothers Band, plays the amphitheater from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. that night.
- Wednesday, Nov. 11: Veterans Day Ceremony. The City of Cumming holds it at 11 a.m. at Lou Sobh Amphitheater, and the listing says all are welcome.
- Saturday, Nov. 21: Winter/Holiday Market and Tree Lighting. The 5th annual market runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 423 Canton Road. It's free, with more than 100 vendors, Santa, live entertainment and activities for kids. The tree lighting follows from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with The Big Beyond and local food and drink vendors. Admission and parking are free, and leashed dogs are welcome.
- Saturday, Dec. 5: Snow Day. It runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Vision Drive with Santa and a live DJ. An unlimited bounce-house pass costs $10, or it's free if you bring a new, unopened toy of equal value.
Each City Center event happens once and then it's over. The calendars don't list a skating season, a recurring Santa schedule or a movie series for City Center this year. If you're looking for those things on a random Tuesday in December, the Fairgrounds is where they are.
Opening weekend takes two nights
The two hubs open on back-to-back nights, so you can do the whole opening in two outings.
On Friday, Nov. 20, Nights of Lights opens at 5 p.m. and stays open until 10. Opening night is a Friday, one of the three evenings each week when Santa is there for photos.
On Saturday, Nov. 21, the action moves to City Center. The market opens at 10 a.m., closes at 6, and the tree lighting starts right after. The tree lighting wraps up at 7:30. Nights of Lights stays open until 10 on Saturdays, so you can catch both on the same night.
Thanksgiving comes five days later. Nights of Lights is open that day, which gives families with visiting relatives something to do after dinner.
On Dec. 12, the parade and the lights share the Fairgrounds
On Saturday, Dec. 12, the two hubs come together for the City of Cumming Christmas Parade. The Cumming Fairgrounds lists the parade at its own address, 235 Castleberry Road, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. According to the City of Cumming's event calendar, the 2026 parade starts at Forsyth Central High School and follows Tribble Gap and Castleberry Road through downtown Cumming.
That night, Nights of Lights is running at the same Fairgrounds. It's a Saturday, so the attraction stays open until 10 p.m., three and a half hours past the parade's listed end. It's also one of the last two Saturdays for Santa photos, which end Dec. 20. A family that comes out for the parade can spend the rest of the night in one place.
The parade page on the Fairgrounds site still has last year's route and registration instructions under the 2026 date. Use the Dec. 12, 2026 listing for the time, and check the city's calendar for this year's details.
Where to eat near each hub
Each hub has a different good place to eat nearby, and both opened this fall.
Near City Center, Tavern Off the Green at 400 Vision Drive started regular service in mid-September, according to the North Atlanta Star. It's a sports tavern with a Cajun-influenced menu and more than 40 TVs. It's open 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. That means it's still open after the Nov. 21 tree lighting ends at 7:30 and after Bourbon & Blues wraps up at 7 on Nov. 7. The rest of the City Center restaurant directory includes Cindyrella's Wine Bar, Avi's Steak on the Stone, Rise & Slice, Super Pho & Boba, Washington's Wharf, Santa Maria, Homestead and SliceAbility.
For the daytime events, Jeff's Bagel Run opened its Cumming shop at 5610 Bethelview Road on Oct. 2, Appen Media reported. It serves scratch-made bagels and coffee from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. It closes long before the Fairgrounds lights come on at 5 p.m., but it works for a morning stop before the market opens at 10 on Nov. 21 or before Snow Day on Dec. 5.
